Tin Man

Tin Man is a 2007 four-and-a-half-hour miniseries that was made by RHI Entertainment and Sci Fi Channel Original Pictures. It was shown in the United States on the Sci Fi Channel in three parts. The first part aired on December 2, and the other two parts aired on the following nights. It came out on DVD on March 11, 2008. The same year, it was shown again in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. The miniseries, which stars Zooey Deschanel, Neal McDonough, Alan Cumming, Raoul Trujillo, Kathleen Robertson, and Richard Dreyfuss, is a continuation of the classic story "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" that adds science fiction and more fantasy elements. It focuses on the adventures of a waitress from a small town named DG. She is pulled into a magical world called the O.Z., which is ruled by the cruel sorceress Azkadellia. Together with her friends Glitch, Raw, and Cain, DG goes on a journey to recover her lost memories, find her real parents, and stop Azkadellia's plan to trap the O.Z. in eternal darkness. The first part of a miniseries cost $20 million to make, and 6.4 million people watched it. The miniseries itself would be the highest-rated miniseries of 2007. It was nominated for nine Emmys, winning one, and was also nominated for a Critics' Choice Award. Some critics liked the acting, music, and visual effects, but others thought it was too dark and sad.
