Monster Squad

Monster Squad is a Saturday morning television series that aired on NBC from 1976 to 1977 and is unrelated to the subsequent film of the same name. Fred Grandy plays Walt, a criminology student who works as a night watchman at "Fred's Wax Museum." To kill time, Walt created a prototype "Crime Computer" that was buried in a big stone tomb among a display of legendary creatures. When Walt plugged in his computer, "oscillating vibrations" brought to life the wax sculptures of Dracula, the Wolfman (called "Bruce W. Wolf" in the credits), and Frankenstein's Monster (named "Frank N. Stein" in the credits). To atone for their wrongdoings in the past, the monsters transformed into superhuman crimefighters who used their unique talents to combat and vanquish various supervillains. In most episodes, Walt would dispatch the monsters to investigate crimes and fight villains while watching the actions from the wax museum via the Crime Computer, apparently since his profession needed him to be present at the wax museum at all times. In some instances, Walt would join the climactic battle alongside his companions and come to the rescue when necessary.
