It is written and illustrated by Tsukasa Hojo, and it is titled Cat's Eye in Japan. All 18 tankobon volumes of Weekly Shnen Jump were published by Shueisha between 1981 and 1985. It is the narrative of the three sisters, Hitomi, Rui, and Ai, who are art thieves in search of their missing father's missing works of art. For a second season, the manga was adapted into an animated television series and aired on NTV from 1983 to 1984 and 1985 to1986, respectively. A TV movie in 1988 and a movie in 1997 both featured live-action renditions of the story. One of the most popular manga series ever published by Weekly Shnen Jump, Cat's Eye has sold over 18 million copies worldwide. In addition to Japan, the anime has aired in Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the Philippines, and China, among other nations. An anime series premiered in 2007 on ImaginAsian TV, which was broadcast in North America by ImaginAsian, and was subsequently made available on DVD by ImaginAsian in 2008. It was reported in 2013 that Right Stuf Inc. would be releasing the series on DVD under their Nozomi label. Shingo Asai's Cat's Eye manga, reworked and renamed Cat's Eye, was published in the first issue of Coamix's Monthly Comic Zenon on October25, 2010.
