Brass Eye

Satirical news magazines are the subject of the show Brass Eye, which airs on television in the United Kingdom. 1997 saw the broadcast of a series on Channel 4 consisting of six episodes, with an additional episode airing in 2001. Chris Morris is credited as the show's creator, and he, along with David Quantick, Peter Baynham, Jane Bussmann, Arthur Mathews, and Graham Linehan all contributed to the writing of the series. Michael Cumming is responsible for directing each episode of the series. It was a follow-up to some of Morris's earlier parody news programs, such as "On the Hour" and "The Day Today." It took a satirical look at how the media portrays social problems, including the tendency toward sensationalism and the instigation of moral panic. The series featured Gina McKee, Mark Heap, Simon Pegg, Julia Davis, and Kevin Eldon in addition to Doon MacKichan, who worked with Morris on The Day Today.
