Aladdin

Based on the movie that was released in 1992, Walt Disney Television produced an animated television series called "Aladdin" that ran from 1994 to 1995. The series was broadcast on television. It was animated at the Slightly Offbeat Productions Studios in Penrose, which is located in the city of Auckland in the country of New Zealand. The series followed up where the direct-to-video sequel The Return of Jafar left off, with Aladdin now residing in the palace and being engaged to Princess Jasmine, who is both gorgeous and spirited. The Return of Jafar was released not long after the beginning of the series. Together, "Al" and Jasmine put themselves in harm's way by venturing into a dangerous environment filled with thieves, monsters, and other dangerous people. Help arrived in the guise of the monkey sidekick Abu, the animated magic carpet, the fast-talking, shape-shifting Genie, and the sarcastic, complaining parrot Iago, who had been Jafar's pet in the past but is now an antagonist. After being defeated in the second film, Jafar makes a brief appearance in the sole episode of the series that features him. This episode also acts as a crossover with Hercules: The Animated Series. With the noteworthy exception of Dan Castellaneta, who voiced the Genie in place of Robin Williams, a number of the film's stars also performed the voices of their TV equivalents in the television adaptation. This spinoff series, in contrast to the musical numbers featured in The Little Mermaid spinoff series, does not include any musical numbers. When it first began airing, the sitcom did so simultaneously on the block known as The Disney Afternoon, which was broadcast by syndication, and on the CBS morning show that ran on Saturdays. In the late 1990s, Disney Channel continued airing the series until their pre-teen lineup forced it out of rotation. During that time, the network did air it multiple times. The program was eventually broadcast on Toon Disney, although it has been pulled from the channel since then.
