Aftershock: Earthquake in New York is a four-hour disaster miniseries that aired in two parts on CBS in the United States in1999, the first on November 14 and the second on November 16. VHS and DVD versions were released in 2000 and 2001, respectively. Chuck Scarborough wrote the novel on which the film is based. Charles S. Dutton, Sharon Lawrence, Tom Skerritt, Lisa Nicole Carson, Jennifer Garner, Rachel Ticotin, and Frederick Weller are among the cast members. The miniseries follows five groups of people in the aftermath of a large earthquake that strikes New York City, directed by Mikael Salomon. It received an Emmy nomination for its special effects. While the amazing effects and acting were appreciated, the film was widely derided for its unrealistic plot, predictability, and lack of realism.
