Clifford Peach, an easygoing adolescent, is having trouble fitting in at his new high school, where a tough-talking bully terrorizes his peers and extorts their lunch money. Clifford refuses to pay and enlists the assistance of an out-of-control outcast whose sheer presence intimidates both kids and teachers. However, their "commercial relationship" quickly transforms into a personal one as Clifford and the tormented loner form a winning alliance against their intimidators-and a very particular friendship with one another.
