Detour
New York nightclub pianist Al Roberts heads to Hollywood to see his lover Sue, who he's been seeing for a while now. Charles, the gambler he was traveling with, abruptly died. Al assumes the man's identity out of fear that the authorities will not accept his story. A woman who knew Charles and is blackmailing Al with tragic repercussions gets a lift from him at a petrol station.
