Qissa
Set in post-colonial India, Qissa tells the story of Umber Singh, a Sikh forced to flee his village during partition in 1947 due to ethnic cleansing. Umber decides to defy fate by constructing a new home for his family. When Umber marries his youngest child, Kanwar, to Neeli, a lower caste girl, the family is confronted with the truth of their identities, as individual ambitions and destinies collide in a battle for eternity.
