Mother who merely wishes to forgive - and be forgiven - her children. Abigail, on her deathbed, begs her husband Steven to track down their estranged daughter, forgive her, and beg her for forgiveness herself. Steven travels from Kentucky to California in order to fulfill that dream - as well as to give his adoptive daughter the Bible she had left behind so many years before in Kentucky. Along the route, Joseph encounters a mysterious hitchhiker who may or may not be the key to unlocking the mystery of the journey's conclusion. We learn along the road that every journey necessitates the presence of a guide, and that Steven will be "Guided by the Word."
